Ingredients
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for topping
- 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fettuccine noodles, cooked
- Optional: broccoli florets and seasoned diced chicken
- Optional: sourdough bread bowls, for serving
Instructions
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
Add the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil rapidly.
Reduce the heat to low. Add the Parmesan a little at a time, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. Avoid using pre-shredded cheese if you want the creamiest sauce.
Squeeze a bit of lemon juice into the sauce, to taste.
Season with salt and pepper and combine with fettuccine noodles and any extras you may have prepared.
Serve in a sourdough bread bowl or on a plate, top with more Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
